Love Heart Blouse

Blouse: Primark // Jeans: Internacionale // Ring: Internacionale // Bracelet: Internacionale

You really can't beat Primark for blouses at the moment, I have bought way too many lately.
I bought this one quite about a month ago, but I only got round to wearing it for the first time yesterday. I was a bit worried that the drawstring tie around the bottom, and the busy print would make me look quite big, but I actually really like it. If you click the pictures to enlarge them, you can see the print is a really cute heart pattern. I did think about wearing this for Valentine's night, but thought it was a bit too cheesy!
I love a little busy pattern though, and I can definitely imagine this collar poking out from behind a plain jumper or two.

It's been quite a while since I wore my hair straight. I even gave it a treat and combed through it for the first time in ages! I didn't realise how long it was until I looked back at the photos!

Monday Mugshot #29

Oops this post was scheduled, and I forgot, so it was posted a bit earlier than it should have been!
Anyway... Guess what I've been doing tonight? Yep, I went to the pub for food with my friends! I clearly think about food too much!

We took Elodie for her first haircut today! I've been putting it off because I was worried they were going to mess it up, but she now has a cute little fringe... So grown up!
I've also been on the hunt for some of the MUA Love Hearts nail varnishes but can't seem to track any down. It said on the Superdrug website that they had them in one of my local stores, but they didn't. I'm also wanting one of the Sleek blush palettes, but I can't get those either! Sometimes it's a real nightmare where I live!

Sorry for the late post anyway! I've scheduled an outfit for tomorrow while I'm at work, and that one is all complete and ready for you to read.
No more blogging errors from me!

NOTD - Models Own Raspberry Crush

Models Own: Raspberry Crush

I love both the colour and quality of this polish.
It's the perfect pinky red colour, which applies perfectly, with a jelly-like consistency. The photos show the polish applied with two coats (which dry in around 20 seconds).
It is very glossy, as you can see in the photos, which were taken in natural daylight, with no flash.

I am yet to be disappointed by any Models Own polishes, they're definitely my favourite high street brand!

Grammys 2012 Best Dressed

 Carrie Underwood
Carrie actually wore my two favourite outfits from the night; her red carpet dress, and her onstage dress. In all honesty, it's hard for her not to look good, but both looks are stunning on her.
I love the sparkle and cut out back on her first outfit, the contrasting bag works really well too. She has got the 'rules' completely right when it comes to staying classy; arms, legs and chest covered, means her back being on display looks beautiful.
Her onstage outfit looks amazing. Personally, fishtail dresses are a favourite of mine anyway, but the black with gold detailing is totally fitting for the event and it shows off her curves perfectly.
 Katy Perry
I hate her blue hair (although it looks kind of okay in the first picture). The crimping does not help! Everyone knows if you're going to crimp, you must either only crimp sections, or tie your hair up. Katy's outfits however, are gorgeous! I love lace, and the blue colour of her red carpet dress, which you would expect to clash with her hair, actually makes her hair look nicer! I really like how the dress is sheer, but not see-through... very pretty.
The gold dress which she wore inside the event is stunning too. I love the detailing around the neck, and how she has chosen to reveal her solders rather than her cleavage, proving that you don't have to flash your  boobs and bum to be sexy (Rihanna!)
I won't mention Katy's performance outfit though - I didn't like it.
Kelly Osbourne
This dress is okay... I like the sequins, and the middle section of the dress, with the layering. It looks really heavy weight and I can imagine it feels amazing to wear. In honesty, I included this outfit to the list because I didn't think a best dressed list of 2 celebrities really made sense... this was the best of the rest!

(Sorry this post is a little late.)

Valentines Outfit

Playsuit: Primark // Tights: New Look

This is what I wore for my Valentine's meal on Tuesday night. I bought this playsuit about three weeks ago now, but had to return it as it was SO short! I swapped it for a size 12, and this one is just about right... still short though, I definitely need tights with it! I love the duck and heart print, it's so cute... and the collar of course.

I curled my hair with my Enrapture Totem Styler (review coming next week), and wore Illamasqua Femme lipgloss.

We went for a meal at Green's of Whitby, an amazing seafood restaurant. I want to take photos of all of the food, but it was a little bit posh, and I would have felt silly whipping my camera out, so instead I just sat back and enjoyed it all!
Before our starters arrived, we were given a some homemade bread buns, which were beautiful. I really would have been happy with a load of those for my meal - they were that good!
For starter I chose shell on prawns with seafood sauce... quite a challenge to de-shell prawns, whilst maintaining a sophisticated image. They were lovely though. I also had a taste of my boyfriend's kippers - which were the best I'd ever tasted!
My main was something I had eaten before; Green's Fish Pie. The most delicious fish pie in the world! Filled with salmon, prawns, scallops, mussels and cod served with kipper salad, mmmmmmm!
For dessert, I was a little disappointed that the only chocolate based dessert on the menu, I didn't like. I ended up choosing a sherry trifle, but it was yummy anyway, so I didn't complain!
By the end, I was totally stuffed, and had to loosen my belt!

The couple next to us got engaged, which was so cute. He hid the ring in her dessert, then when she accepted, he turned and asked me which finger to put the ring on!

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day!

BAFTAs 2012 Best Dressed

Fearne Cotton
This is my favourite outfit from the Bafta's red carpet. I love the detailing on the collar more than anything, the colour of the dress is beautiful and the big black bow adds a quirky twist to the outfit. Fearne always seems to manage to look brilliant, without showing off too much skin... I love her style.

Melissa George & Holiday Grainger
Two very contrasting outfits, but I like them both. Melissa's is very sexy, yet, like Fearne, she is completely covered. Her hair and makeup are really stunning too.
Holiday's dress is just super pretty, I love the soft, floaty fabric. The sequins and scoop back make it extra girly, and the bow around the waist (again like Fearne's) is really cute.
Emma Watson & Caroline Flack
Because there weren't many outfits on the red carpet that I actually liked, I thought I would show my favourite outfits from the pre-Baftas party too.
Again, two completely contrasting outfits.
These two don't really look like they're at the same event, Emma is so dressed up, and Caroline's dressed down, but I love both looks.
Emma never gets it wrong. I love the dropped waist on her dress, the lace and her slicked back hair. She's beautiful.
Caroline is just as effortlessly cool as ever in a classic aviator jacket, a Peter Pan collar dress and Topshop Aiden boots. I love her lippie too... wonder what it is?!

Get The Perfect Eyebrows

If I ever have to leave the house without makeup, the one thing I miss the most, and always try to  make time to do is fill in my eyebrows. It's only something I have been doing for the past year or so, but I am really obsessive about it now, and feel totally naked without!

I really like a dark, big brow. Quite arched and angular. I'm so happy that I didn't partake in the trend of plucking your brows until you only have a tiny thin line left, which many of my friends did when I was in school, and they have trouble growing any brows at all now.

To keep my eyebrows in perfect condition, I pluck them every day. Literally as soon as I see a new hair peeping through, I whip it out. I used to wait until they really needed doing, and were over grown, but I've got into the habit of checking them and keeping on top of them every morning. It's much easier this way. I only let them overgrow now, if I am going to reshape them a little.

I use the most amazing tweezers. I haven't splashed out for Tweezerman, (which I have never used, but do believe are the best) but I use the Elegant Touch Prescision Double Ended Tweezers - which sell for around £3-£5. Don't be put off by their small price point, they really are great. The thick slanted end is very strong and has great grip for plucking hairs, while the pointed end is brilliant for plucking out hairs that are just starting to appear or any ingrown hairs.

I was once told something which always sticks in my head, and that is; 'eyebrows are sisters, not twins.' In other words, they only have to be similar, not identical in shape and size. I always remember this when I'm shaping mine.

My views on the eyebrow kits I use:

I am currently using the Sleek Makeup Brow Kit, in dark, to fill and set my brows. I use a small angled brush with the wax, and draw the outline of my brows first. I do them bit by bit, and swap from left to right brow as I go (I never complete one brow before starting on the next). I then use a rounded brush in the powder and very lightly dust over the wax to set it. The brushes which come in the set are perfectly fine to use, not too small so that they are too fiddly and the actual kit is the perfect size to have in your handbag, for if you're as obsessed with your brows as I am! The tweezers also work perfectly fine. When I initially used this kit, I found it to be very dark for me, and I have to be careful to use a very light hand when applying, just to make sure I don't end up with a Scouse Brow!
I am also a big fan of the ELF brow kit, which works in exactly the same way. I prefer that this kit comes in four shades (ash, light, medium and dark) as opposed to Sleek's two shades (light and dark). I use ELF's medium kit, and it is the perfect colour for me. The packaging is much smaller than Sleek's which obviously has it's pros (smaller to carry about) and con's (less product), but for the amazing price of £3.50 it really is the ideal kit for anyone to use. The kit doesn't come with it's own brushes, but I use the ELF Small Angled Brush which works perfectly.

The first photo below shows my eyebrows done with the ELF Eyebrow kit, and the second photo shows them with the Sleek Eyebrow kit. (Bad lighting in the first photo - apologies).
I am booked in for HD Brows in a local salon at the end of the month, which I am very much looking forward to! I can't wait to share the results with you all.

(I am not claiming to be an expert... this post has been requested many times)
